One area that hasn’t really been covered that extensively in terms of smoking bans and regulation is the open sea. The fact is that cruise lines are always extremely popular, but think about the fact that you are sticking hundreds to thousands of people on a boat, putting them out in the ocean and hoping for the best. At some point the smoking debate has to come up.
The fact is that smoking bans on cruise lines vary from company to company. If you want to smoke on a Carnival ship, for example, you’re going to have to do that while on the balcony. You can’t, however, smoke in your cabin. Other cruise lines have the rule in reverse. Either way the rules are not nearly as restrictive as you will find on the shore.
One thing that is of note is that most cruise lines seem to have a middle ground for e cigarette users. Since e cigarettes do not have the corrosive smoke of regular cigarettes and don’t have the nasty odor of regular cigarettes. This obviously would not stink up the cabin like cigarettes would. So if you are a smoker who wants to be able to smoke on a cruise ship, then you may want to look into one of the many affordable e cigarette starter kits that are available.
